Why we built this
Every resident in an aged care home has a life outside of care tasks — things they enjoy, people they miss, a good afternoon versus a quiet one. Lifestyle and leisure teams spend their days creating those moments, often with very little to show for it afterwards beyond a paper diary or a memory that lives only in someone's head.
We started Well Engaged on a simple belief: meaningful daily engagement deserves the same rigour, evidence and respect as every other part of aged care. If a home can produce clear records for the rest of a resident's day, it should be just as easy to show what they actually did, what they enjoyed, and whether they took part.
What Well Engaged does
In practice, that belief turns into four things:
- Personalised daily activities residents enjoy, delivered on a shared iPad built for communal use in a lifestyle or activities space.
- One-tap participation records for lifestyle staff, so a moment that used to disappear into a paper diary becomes a record in seconds, not a form filled in later from memory.
- Audit-ready evidence for Standard 7 of the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, pulled together automatically instead of assembled by hand before a visit.
- A window in for families, so someone who can't be there every day can still see a little of their loved one's week.
Founded in general practice, built for the common room
Well Engaged is built by two doctors who spent twenty years working in general practice in rural New South Wales:

Being a two-person team keeps us close to the sector's feedback and quick to act on it — the product stays grounded in how lifestyle teams actually spend their day, not how it looks from a distance.
What Well Engaged isn't
Well Engaged is an engagement and participation tool, nothing more. It doesn't identify what's medically wrong with a resident, and it doesn't provide medical care of any kind. What it does is notice what a resident enjoys and give staff and families a straightforward record that they took part — no health-status judgements, no outcome promises, nothing beyond that.
